This'll warm your feet - a trip into the past with some pictures of some of the women who worked the machines at The Hosiery Manufacturing Company.

The shots were taken back in September 1954 for The Glasgow Herald and Evening Times. The main pic shows Isobel Workman and colleagues working linking machines which connected the foot of a sock to its leg. The smaller pic is of Janet Hunter, also working a linking machine.
