American football is coming to Troon - Trojan style
24 JanuaryThe Trojans are coming to Troon! One of Scotland's leading American football teams are set to make their new home in the town, and are holding open trials for new players.
The West Coast Trojans will be playing their home games at Troon FC's Portland Park over the summer, providing a great chance for people in Troon to see the game at first hand.
The Trojans are relocating from Scotstoun in Glasgow, and have enjoyed success in recent seasons, winning their division and reaching the national finals in 2011. This year they will be playing in the BAFANL Division 1 North.
In a week which saw a Scottish-born player, Lawrence Tynes, kick the New York Giants to the Super Bowl (pictured), there's never been a better time to get involved, and the Trojans are holding open trials at St Joseph's Academy, Kilmarnock on Sunday 29th January from 1pm to 4pm. Trials will be indoors, and any players should wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
