PARKING IN TROON TOWN CENTER... (Portland Street)

by IAN SMITH
the parking in troon is a joke... !!!!!!!!!! traffic warden that lets car park on double yellow lines causing nothing but problems, and then they have the cheek to ticket cars that are parked in parking spaces that are not causing a problem.... OPEN YOUR EYES ... from now on in Portland street the first time i see our so called traffic warden walk passed any car that is parked on a double yellow line out side Subway, Coach House or Spar i will report them for not carrying out the job i as a tax payer pay their wages for...

My problem is in the old safeway carpark where lazy drivers park their cars on a public footpatth.. not much good for parents with prams or wheelchair users who then have to go on to the road something has to be done about this !!!!

JAMES WILSON says

by jim wlso cars parking on pavements especially hillhouse road, but all round troon, i thought it was a law not to park on pavements as you obstruct people with prams & the blind. i agree with ian smith, the warden look on while selfish lazy drivers park all over portland street.

John P says

I no longer visit the town centre because of the surveillance cameras so I have no problem with the parking. :-(

IAN SMITH says

You dont need to worry about the surveillance cameras.. NO ONE BOTHERS TO WATCH THEM....!!!!!!!!! as i found out when my car got damaged parked in Portland Street... more tax payers money getting chucked away thanks to South Aryshire Council... WHAT A GREAT JOB THEY DO... (NOT)...!! WAY BOTHER...!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-(

i agree what are the councillors gettin paid for, i feel like running for next elections , i couldnt do a worse job than the ones that are in already, south ayrshire needs a good shake up, i think i could do a better job !!!

shaun mcgonigale says

yip the councillors more bothered about claiming expenses , than sorting out issues by the looks of it. im sure a lot of people agree

Whatever the Troon traffic wardens may do, or may not do correctly, their performance pales into insignificance when compared to some of the dreadful traffic wardens located in Ayr, who for years have taken a wage and in return, have given very poor and unfair service to the community.

The have created little COMFORT ZONES and give preferential consideration to select offenders. Some have even been found to spend up to an hour or so, in the back shop of a town centre bakers premises, boring the hard working staff with nonsense gossip, when they should otherwise be patrolling the roadways.

Several Ayr traffic wardens have been repeatedly reported to Strathclyde Police for malicious and misleading activities, favouring certain persistent offenders, squandering valuable partolling time by finding other nonsensical things to, and by ignoring so many examples of illegal parking as they walk (and CYCLE ??) past well-known parking offenders.

Such low calibre performance would normally have resulted in dismissals, yet, for some reason, some of these highly deficient traffic wardens are still employed ??

Let us see how the new traffic warden service, under SAC, on April 1st can perhaps improve on the past failings and disgraceful antics of the present lot!!

Im sure somewhere theres some traffic wardens who are probably open to the odd bribe , in return for privalage parking, the odd cream cake or pie ha ha

IAN SMITH says

So if the parking is so bad in Troon that they need to ticket cars parked 5 min longer than they should be, why do they let cars park any where they want to catch thre P&O boat up Templehill and on the Shore Road..??? How much have P&O dropped South Ayrshire council or the traffic warden... ????

shaun mcgonigale says

never had half these problems when it was kyle and carrick district council.
