Severe weather closes Troon leisure centre

High winds and property damage have forced Muirhead Activity Centre and some surrounding roads to close.

Stormy weather has dislodged a piece of cladding near the leisure centre.

According to the council, this has created a potential hazard, therefore, they have closed the area today (Wednesday, December 14) for safety.

As a precaution, Central Avenue has been closed between Merrick Avenue and Lochlea Avenue to both vehicles and pedestrians.

Traffic is being diverted along Merrick Avenue.
